American home and family life tradition has always included the wooden bowl. Each wooden bowl has always been skillfully turned and of great value. Today, few turn wood bowls with the individual attention, skill, and artful eye used at BirnWorks.
BirnWorks began in 2015 in the woodshop of Darrel Birnschein. The woodshop resides just south of Jacksonport, Wisconsin, near the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan. Darrel is the heart of BirnWorks, but he is assisted by friends and family including his daughter, Kelly, who manages many business and office matters, his grandson, Audie, who sweeps and jumps in wood curls, and Chip the dog who is always good company. Each Birnworks creation is one-of-a-kind. Most can act as patterns and inspirations for others like it. Some can never be recreated. Every bowl is made by hand with the utmost care and skill. It can take one hundred years for a tree to produce what makes Birnworks products so beautiful. Great pride and care is put into each bowl reaching it's potential as a functional and beautiful addition to the home that will last for generations. |
